Updating Disk RAID Configuration

Updating Disk RAID configuration

Note: It’s better to use IE browser as it’s preferred browser.

Servers that we received has two hard drives each of 36GB And they are being default configured as RAID 1+0 (mirrored set without parity!). Since it’s less disk space, we would like to use both drives together to get the more space i.e. 72GB for use. Hence we want to change the configuration to RAID0 (striping without protection)

There are three ways to update the Smart Array Controller Configuration.

  1. Changing Disk RAID configuration using SmartStart CD (by physical connection)
  2. Using SmartStart CD via Virtual Media Applet
  3. Configuring RAID with F8 during boot
